Civil Society
"Civil society" is an initiative from D3E (Development, Economy, Ecology and Equity in Latin America) and CLAES (Latin American Center of Social Ecology). The center promotes the debate about civil society and their participation politics. 
 

Changing Windows into Doors: International workshop on civil society and the global arena
    CLAES organized a 3-day workshop on civil society and access to the global arena. The learning workshop, entitled “Changing Windows into Doors”, together with the global society program of the Ford Foundation. Furthermore, the event was sponsored by the Uruguayan ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture and Education, and included participants from more than 14 countries, representing both civil society and academia. The meeting took place in Punta Ballena, a small summer resort near Punta del Este, in southeastern Uruguay. MORE
 
Gender impact on migration and the blues of capital
  Gender features in migrants from Latin American to other regions are more and more important. Globalization and civil society: a regional perspective

CLAES D3E launched the weekly newspaper “Peripecias”. Peripecias is published every Wednesday on the internet at www.peripecias.com. Peripecias covers Latinamerican issues from social justice to the environment, and offers an independent perspective. Besides the columns from CLAES staff and our collaborators, we also publish outstanding pieces from other sources.
