Soy and meat in the South |

CLAES D3E has just published a detailed report on
the soybean and meat sectors in the Common Market of the South (Mercosur).
Soybean expansion is one of the main deforestation factors. The new
report addresses the economic, trade, social and environmental
components in productive chains, and includes a proposal for

The Brazilian president Lula da Silva emitted recently a new
"provisional means" which liberates transgenic soy, showing that there is hardly an effective
control of farming methods (MORE
